Jacaranda Festival
It's time for our annual Jacaranda Festival at Windaroo Zoo. Celebrate six weeks of blooming trees across the park as summer arrives in Windaroo. As our flowering trees are in full bloom, we encourage you to visit the park with your family and take part in the weekend activities. This year, we are offering a discount on all zoo tickets purchased at the front gate. Any member of your party that is wearing a blue or lavender shirt will receive 10% off of the regular price of admission.
Saturday Festival Events:
November 24 - Jazz Bands
We celebrate this American freeform music style at the Jacaranda Theater (our open air venue). We expect at least eight bands playing throughout the day.
December 1 - Botanical Workshops
Visit with our botanists and learn how to grow and care for flowering trees found all across the Brisbane area and greater Australia. We will have seeds available for those who participate in the workshops.
December 8 - World Music and Food
Come and celebrate world music and sample many different foods. We expect at least eight bands playing throughout the day. There will also be many local restaurants providing a variety of foods for tasting and lunch/dinner.
December 15 - Botanical Workshops
Visit with our botanists and learn how to grow and care for flowering trees found all across the Brisbane area and greater Australia. We will have seeds available for those who participate in the workshops.
December 22 - Floral Arrangements and Competition
The end of the Jacaranda festival is commemorated by our flower show. This year's focus is orchids and roses. Contact the zoo if you wish to get an entry form and more information. Visitors will have the opportunity to view and purchase many rare and exotic species.
