Scientific Publications from WZ Press
As part of our ongoing education and research initiatives,
Windaroo Zoo offers various publications developed by zoo staff to the public as well as
contributing to publications throughout the zoological community.
We maintain two main publications at Windaroo: The Windaroo Times and
Species of the Australian Coastline. The Windaroo Times is a monthly
published magazine featuring current news about the zoo, past and upcoming events,
new animal arrivals, zoo keeper spotlights, and a kids section, just to name a few.
Species of the Australian Coastline is a bi-annual journal publication that
covers animal research, coastal evolution and the impact humans have on coastal
species, among other topics. In the near future we also plan to publish zoo keeper
diaries, a collection of thoughts and day-to-day interactions from our keepers.
As part of the global zoological society we contribute articles and research to various publications around the globe. We feel this is a great way to give back to the community and help other zoos provide the most for their animals and guests.
All of these publications are a great way to stay up-to-date with happenings around the zoo and zoological society. You can find our publications for reference in the Learning Pavilion and for purchase in the Windaroo gift shop.
