Grey Kangaroo Name: Grey Kangaroo
Scientific Name: Macropus fuliginosis

Basic Information:
These kangaroo, commonly known as the Grey Kangaroo, are found in the southern part of Australia stretching to the coast of Queensland. Weighing up to 54 kg and being on average 1.2 meters in length the Grey is one of the largest kangaroos. The Kangaroos fur ranges from pepper grey to light chocolate brown. This Herbivore enjoys eating leaves from shrubs and plants at night. These animals will group together in packs of 15 where males compete for females in the group. The baby Joey will stay inside the mothers pouch for up to 150 days after birth. The mothers pouch provides protection and a teat for milk. Kangaroos can live up to 18 years in the wild. When moving at full speed Kangaroos can jump as far as 13.5 meters.
