Create a Native Habitat at Home

Native habitats at homeAs the population of humans on the planet ever increases, it becomes more and more important for us as a species to learn how to co-exist in nature. You can help become a valuable part of your local ecosystem by creating an at-home habitat around the area where you live. At-home habitats consist of the plants and watering patterns that would naturally be found in your location.

Keeping an at-home habitat means two things:
- Landscaping becomes much less work since the plants are adapted to living there in the first place. No more high water bills and other costs such as fertilizer or herbicide to maintain an exotic lawn that was never meant to grow there.
- Your at-home habitat will foster the animals that are part of your local ecosystem. At-home habitats are a great learning environment for children, who can get firsthand experience witnessing the marvels of nature in their own yard. It's like having a private zoo at your house you can visit any time you'd like.
